Even though citizens of both state they are freer than the other's, they are only as free as the state allows. The example of Professor Graziadei is very poignant. Living in Italy as an enemy of the state, he was still allowed to write, collect his pension, and complain of the fascist state. While in Soviet Russia, Trotsky was explled and then chopped up with a Mexican axe!!! Alot of gulags in USSR.
PS--Fascism still evil, just a matter of degree.
