Why are the standard unemployment figures for the 1930s and early 1940s misleading?

This has been used many times to say WWII ended the Depression. But this is very misleading. 1st, the Draft and volunteers took away 16million, 22% of the workforce. Defense industries virtually ends any other unemployment. Even though not "real" employment, officially unemployment "decreased." Women, HS dropouts, and many southern Blacks entered the workforce.
